Wildlife watching—particularly the pronghorn antelope, wild burros and the large buffalo herd—makes for an exciting day. As does exploring the authentic Old West on horseback, much the way Wild Bill Hickok once did.
Visitors to the new Under Canvas Mount Rushmore may also take advantage of customizable itineraries. The activities include a Buffalo Safari Jeep Tour, rock climbing and panning for gold near the classic gold mines.
After all that fun, retreat to luxurious accommodations (tents sleep from two to eight people, depending on tent size). And you won’t have to look far for a good meal.
