Enjoy Montana glamping, Paws Up-style. Warm your toes before the campfire along the banks of the Blackfoot River. Take in an expanse of stars across the night’s sky. Listen to the strum of an acoustic guitar breaking the silence. Listen to country music artist Robbie Fulks serenade you with songs from his Grammy-nominated album, Upland Stories. The Resort at Paws Up brings stargazing of both the galactic and Hollywood nature to the next level. They even invite famous musicians to perform for guests right at their own campfires.
A WILDLY BEAUTIFUL SETTING
Here in big sky country, the famous Blackfoot River, featured in the novel and movie A River Runs Through It, is right at your doorstep. Set on 37,000 acres just 30 minutes outside of Missoula, Montana, The Resort at Paws Up isn’t a far cry from Yellowstone and Glacier National Parks. Keeping cadence with Mother Nature, Paws Up opens its camps in spring (typically in late May or early June) and kicks off the season with its Montana Master Grillers event, then closes the tents in October (the luxury homes remain open year-round).
FIVE-STAR FEASTS
The Resort’s Campfire Chefs program invites culinary aces like Garrison Price from Il Buco in New York City to serve as guest chefs. As a result, Paws Up makes a grand impression. Similarly, the butlers at each camp are certified S’moreologists, crafting perfectly roasted house-made marshmallows into works of eclectic art. While the traditional chocolate and graham cracker recipe is on offer, campers are invited to explore unconventional toppings like prosciutto, huckleberries or cheese that can be sandwiched inside a chocolate chip cookie.
GLAMPING TENTS
Thirty-six luxurious glamping tents inhabit diverse terrain. For example, two camps are perched atop a cliff overlooking the river while another is settled in a secluded meadow. Furthermore, the tents vary in size from one bedroom adequate for couples to family-friendly three bedrooms. They’re each outfitted with lavish décor inspired by the American West, from the earth-tone tiling in the walk-in showers to cowhide pillows on the wood-framed beds. Guests feel at home with heated floors and plush robes. Need anything? The butler will see to it immediately.
ACTIVE ADVENTURES
While the resort’s all-inclusive rate includes plenty of complimentary options like archery, mountain biking and cross-country skiing, Paws Up also boasts 100 miles of trails plus equine adventures like cattle driving and riding lessons. Furthermore, there are also 40-plus activity options on-site. Start the day with world-class fly-fishing and end with a hot air balloon ride soaring over the Ponderosa pines. In contrast, simply unwind in a tent at Spa Town, which overlooks a quiet meadow.
