Glamping in Sri Lanka at Jungle Beach Camp

The Beauty of Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka is all about nature – from the miles and miles of sandy beaches to the lush tea fields to the mesmerizing mountainscapes.  And there’s no better way to experience the outdoors here than to enjoy a fantastic glamping experience right on the beach.

Glamping in Sri Lanka

Standard Tent at Jungle Beach Camp Ahungalla

With its natural and rustic style, exclusive glamping bungalows, tasty food, and amazing setting, Jungle Beach Camp offers the perfect Sri Lanka experience.

Their motto sums it up: living in the nature with the nature.

At Jungle Beach Camp you can get away, enjoy nature, and simply slow down. Situated on an unspoiled section of beach that stretches for three kilometers, Jungle Beach Camp is truly a peaceful escape from the world.

The Jungle Beach Camp provides the perfect alternative to those who love the idea of camping to feel very close to nature and all the elements, but prefer not to be without life’s simple luxuries like a bathroom as well as a cozy bed. It’s the perfect mix of nature and comfort.

Upon arrival through the small wooden gate, you are welcomed home and greeted personally by the owner or manager with a fresh welcome drink. It’s time to relax, unplug, and just be in the moment.

Cozy Beach Bungalows

All accommodations overlook the pristine, powdery sand of Ahungalla Beach. Step right out of your bungalow and you are already on the beach.  Take your pick from the four standard (for four people) or deluxe glamping bungalows (for up to six people). All are raised off the ground above the sand dunes and surrounded with trees and bushes for absolute privacy.

The beautifully designed bungalows use natural materials giving the feeling of a rustic yet modern vibe. The en-suite bathrooms are open and constructed with half wood and half polished concrete.

Fresh linens, comfortable pillows, beach towels, ayurvedic products and a mini fridge are all included in each bungalow. And depending on your group size and configuration, each bungalow can be customized — for couples with a double bed and living area with sofa, for families with double bed and single beds or for friends with only single beds.

It’s pretty magical at night to tuck into your comfy bed and drift to sleep to the sound of the sea just outside.

Relax and Rejuvenate in the Spa

In the on-beach spa you can relax and let all your cares melt away with a soothing ayurvedic massage.  Listen to the waves crash while professional therapists provide deep relaxation and rejuvenation. Pamper yourself skin treatments with organic and all-natural herbal oils and products. Free your mind with private or group yoga classes. Looking for a more intense yoga getaway?  Jungle Beach also offers different transformational retreats.

Fresh and Local Food

Right on the property, the Jungle Beach Restaurant offers a good mix of traditional Sri Lankan food and international dishes. They focus on all the fresh and local seafood found right here like lobster, jumbo prawns, cuttlefish, and crab. Vegetarian and vegan preparation is also available. You can dine in the restaurant, out on the beach or even have your meal delivered to your bungalow for a romantic dinner in.

Or if you decide to go on one of their fishing tours and catch your own seafood, they will cook it up for you. And once a week don’t miss the fun and communal BBQ night on the beach. Thirsty? Jungle Beach makes all their own juices, mocktails, and cocktails with fresh fruit from the island.

Activities for Everyone

Beach lounge chairs by a Deluxe Tent

Just laze the day away with a book on the beach or have some fun with games and activities right here like beach volleyball, table tennis, card and board games and even Zorb ball soccer. Feeling more adventurous? Get out into the water and rent a body board or even a surfboard and take a lesson for a fee.

The property can help set up any offsite activities you desire. Visit the well-preserved colonial city Galle, a town full of charming Dutch-era villas and pretty seaside views. Get out on a river safari or try your hand at kayaking. There’s no shortage of things to do if you want to explore. Set up temple tours or visit the turtle hatchery. Learn about local culture by visiting the mask museum, a cinnamon factory, silk factory, or even a tea plantation.

At Jungle Beach Camp it’s all about unplugging and being in the moment. Have fun surfing in the sea or just relax on a lounge chair with a fresh fruit juice. In either case, just be yourself. Living in nature with nature.
