Tiny Glamping at WeeCasa

I opened the door to #9 excited to see what I was about to encounter.  I felt like I was falling into Alice’s rabbit hole; everything seemed familiar yet came with slight twists.  It’s as if my world had shrunk to a tiny Wonderland.

GETTING THERE

When our plane stopped at the end of a private runway at the entrance of Rusinga Island Lodge, I cheered. Throughout my travels in Kenya, getting to other glamping destinations required, in many cases, arduous and bumpy hour-long drives. After an ease-filled entry to Rusinga, I felt myself slip into island mode as I received a fresh towel and a cool tropical juice.

The Cape Town effect

Located at the tip of South Africa, Cape Town, affectionately referred to as the Mother City, is rightly considered as the gateway to Africa. But with a distinct climate, wider ethnic mix and unique culture, the Cape feels like a country of its own.

Flanked by Table Mountain, Devil’s Peak, Lion’s Head and Signal Hill, while simultaneously embraced by the Atlantic Ocean, the City Bowl that is created is the epicenter of South Africa’s port city.
