Glamping on Orcas Island

Orcas Island is now offering a glamping experience like no other.

When the Washington State Parks were faced with budget cuts, the commission decided to lease out portions of Moran State Park.

The hospitality groups, Wanderlust Camps, that leased out the park turned those grounds into glamping sites.

Glampers can get to the Island by ferry and will be greeted with spectacular views.

At the campgrounds, glampers will stay in a safari tent furnished with a bed, nightstand, drawers, tables, chairs, drying rack and a coat rack.

In addition, the tents have king sized memory foam mattresses to give guests the ultimate comforts.

For just $244/night guest get all the amenities they could want such as electric heat, flat screen TV, iPhone an computer chargers, vanity table, mini fridge, fire pit and a microwave.

The tents in Moran State Park are surrounded by over 5,000 acres of wilderness and guest can enjoy activities such as hiking, biking, and sea kayaking adventures just steps away from camp.

Orcas Island is one big playground located in the San Juan Islands and the ideal spot for an outdoor glamping adventure.

Glamping Goes Country

As the glamping trend takes off, it’s presence is being noticed in many unexpected places.

Glamping brings people the comforts of home while still being outdoors for a more comfortable camping experience.

Canvas Town Events, will bring glamping to festivals this summer.

Canvas Town Events, started by Kristi and Dan Johnson, provides furnished sleeping tents for music festivals, weddings, corporate retreats, parties, sporting events and many other occasions.

As they have already been to Memorial Day Music Festival in Iowa, there will be Glamping grounds set up at Country Fest 2015.

The glamping grounds are being referred to as Glamping Village, the tents range from $700-$1400 and are all inclusive.

The tents include high end furnishing with air conditioning so people can enjoy the four day festival in comfort as well as style.

As the glamping fad takes off people are finding new and innovative ways to bring the idea of camping to a more luxurious height.

Fox News Talks Glamping

“The Resort at Paws Up, located on a 37,000-acre working ranch in western Montana, calls itself the Last Best Place, and its landscape of lush valleys, majestic mountains and the mighty Blackfoot River make it easy to see why.

The resort’s owner came under fire several years ago when he tried to trademark “Last Best Place,” which Montanans have held dear for decades. But there’s little debate that Paws Up was first at something else: glamorous camping, aka “glamping.”

“It’s not just that you’re in a really nice tent…You’ve got activities from shooting guns to riding horses to floating the river, and you come back to the camping experience. Guests just go crazy for it.”

About a year after it opened in 2005, Paws Up added three upscale tents to its lodging options. Like the high-end safari camps in Africa, the spacious canvas tents boasted king-size beds, robes and slippers and gourmet meals – touches you’d expect from a five-star hotel, but all nestled in the pristine wilderness.”

Fox News sat down with the General Manager of Glamping.com and several other glamping site owners to discuss all things glamping.
